"This is my second winter wearing these boots. Still very comfortable and warm for those cold iowa days walking the yard"

"They are good quality boots but they are a little too big. Would have to get one size smaller"

"I was skeptical of these boots at first. After spending 4 years as an Army Infantryman, 12 years as a Naval Special Warfare Operator, and even 5 years as a railroad conductor, I've been through my fair share of boots....and have (stern) opinions. I've been issued everything from Altama (11), Rocky (S2V is a great boot (11.5), S2V trainers (garbage), Nike (11.5) , Danner(11) , Asolo Fugitive GTX (11), Salomon Speedcross (11.5--horrible...soles are garbage) , Oakley SI (11) and everything in between. Even splurged on a pair of Whites Smokejumpers when railroading that were custom made to my feet. Nothing else has come close to theses. Im a Paramedic student now and needed a specific pair of boots for school and clinical rotations....these boots met that need. If you're on the fence, just lean over and buy them! Out of the box they're a little stiff, but after a few hours of wearing them around they feel like slippers. Even more comfortable than my $500+ Whites. Im always cautious about online boot orders. I read a few reviews and heeded to the sizing reqs of other customers. These and there a freakin' GLOVE at 11. Extremely comfortable. I like that I can eventually re-sole them, which is a HUGE bonus. They feel like walking on clouds, good price, extreemly comfortable, no pinch points, and I couldn't be happier."

Q&A

are these boots made in the USA
These Bates Boots are not made in the US.
if they are too big can I send them back for exchange at no cost? One of the reviews said they run big.
at this time bates boots do qualify for free return shipping so yes they can be returned and exchanged quite easily as long as the manufacture has the boot in stock themselves.
Are these boots insulated? if they are what gram of insulate?
These Bates Boots are not insulated.
Are the soles sewn on and can be replaced or are they just glued on?
These would have a stitch down welt construction so the soles can be replaced.
Why don't you carry smaller sizes so that women can purchase them...
we do apologize we will look into this to see if smaller sizes are available but as of right now we do show that these boots might possibly be discontinued by bates, we are checking with our rep right now but it is possible we might not be able to get these any longer.
