"I wore them, got them filthy, they are tough and comfortable. When washed the dirt and grime came out effortlessly. Great pants so I ordered another load. I usually wear a size 36 the size is 36-38. I ordered 34 and they are 34-36. Other than that is looks great."

Good shorts, dry quickly when wet, good pockets.

"The pockets are many and well constructed. The internal compartments in the pockets are well sized so that you can put your phone or wallet in them. The only negative is that they fit a little big and this make the pockets seem a little too deep. As a result, you have to dig really deep in the pockets to get stuff out. Ordering 1 size smaller might help this."

"These shorts have the features I want in all my pants and shorts - deep front pockets that keep your items at the front of your leg not the side, low profile cargo pockets with zip closure, rear pockets without a closure flap, 7 belt loops, strong stitching and materials, and they are comfortable. I would like to find some long pants built the same way as these shorts. They seem to be well made and should stand up to a lot of use. Quality clothing seems to be hard to find these days so I'm glad I found these!"

40 or 42 are good options. Depends if you are in between sizes and/or the material make up of the relaxed fit you currently wear.
What is the purpose of the cloth on the inside of the leg at the bottom (besides catching your toes when you try to put them on)?
