"If you are looking for a map case that is light weight this may not be your choice, however if you are looking for a case that is durable and compact this one is a good choice. One down side your maps will be folded multiple times so there will be a little work in getting the map out. Room for pens/pencils, compass and even an energy bar or two."

Good pouch, holds large capacity 45ACP mags well

"It doesn't role as tight and small as the maxpedition one but it sits flatter when rolled. The Marian's are good. It is a bit heavy because of the webbing and permanently attached staps but you can cut them off. The dual elasticity to tighten the top around stuff are a bit annoying but again, not a huge big deal. I will buy the rest of mine like this one."

how wide are the vertical molle straps on the back of the pouch?: The MOLLE straps on the back of this mag pouch are 1" wide.

can i wear this pouch both vertically OR horizontally while mounted on a standard belt?: If your belt is thin enough, this pouch can be worn horizontally and horizontally. However, for MOLLE, this pouch can only be attached vertically.
