When ordering a 1.5" Rigger Belt to mate with the Slim Grip belt, you must select it as an option when ordering (Recommended Item). Please be careful and deliberate when selecting the Slim Grip size vs. the Rigger Belt size.

Selecting the slim-grip size vs. the rigger belt size; to accurately determine the proper size padded belt, take these steps.

  1. Determine the size gap you want between frontends of the belt. Most people want about 4 inches, but some like the belt to touch or even overlap.
  2. Once you have this decided, take a tape measure around your waist while wearing your everyday belt.
  3. Subtract the gap you want from the waist measurement. Order the padded belt closest to this final measurement. If you choose the 1.5" cobra belt, you will need to go up a few inches from your standard belt size to accommodate the added girth created by padded belt.

Below is the total length of the SGPB for sizing:

30.5" end to end - If you choose a Cobra belt for this Slim-GripTM, the smallest Cobra you should order is Medium
35.5" end to end - If you choose a Cobra belt for this Slim-GripTM, the smallest Cobra you should order is Large
41.5" end to end - If you choose a Cobra belt for this Slim-GripTM, the smallest Cobra you should order is XL

highest quality

"Does everything it is supposed to do. As comfortable as heavy plate carriers get. Fully adjustable and does so quickly. If I already have my soft armor on and want to put it over the top for extra protection I can do so quickly. Seems very sturdy and well stitched."

Incredible craftsmanship

"Impressive quality and fit with zero movement when wearing it, no more gear sliding down your hip during training sessions. This belt when kneeling does NOT dig into your sides and allows you to move faster while caring the same amount of gear as the older wider belts..my old belts are collecting dust..the only CON I have is HSG’s cobra belt sizing, as it can be confusing to some..as for the fit, you don’t even know your wearing a belt..it’s killer!"

All around great belt!

"Great belt is comfortable and stays put where you put it. I wear a size 36 pants and ordered the XL and it was perfect with about 4 inches between the sides. Has enough room for a riggers belt with a ring. Use it for rifle and pistol instruction, PRC rifle competitions and as a quick deployment belt as the designated marksman at work. I have HSG riggers belt inside with ring along with HSG pistol and rifle mag pouches. There is a BFG Mini IFAC, drop leg holster and Leatherman MUT inside a HSG covered pistol mag pouch and o still have room. All the HSG gear costs money but I have been up and down in dirt training for over a year with all the gear but the belt and it has never failed me or even started to appear to be wearing out. Tip measure over your pants and belt the get the sizing right."

Great belt

"Probably my favorite belt so far. Great fit, very comfortable and affordable compared to what’s out there. Highly recommend."

Comfy, but understandable limitations

"Fits just great and really stays put thanks to rubber-like padding in the inside. Only has two rows of molle, so you really cant weave pouches onto it, but rather install like you would in a regular belt."

Good gun belt

"I really like this padded belt. It feels really good to wear for long periods of time. I like how the Velcro Cobra belt velcro’s into this gun belt do it doesn’t shift or slide. When I bought this I picked a side that would allow the front to be open so I had room to bend over and pick stuff up... looking back I wish I had bought the next size up so the gun belt tips overlap at the front, doing so would have allowed me to move my pistol mag pouch and tourniquet holder a little more to the front and would have given me more space on the sides and back for rifle mag pouches and med kit.... something to think about if you are purchasing one of these. I didn’t think I would want it coming all the way around the front but now that I have one that doesn’t, I wish it did. Great belt, it doesn’t use molle, it uses HSGI’s on version that is like mini molle. It allows you to use some things that only have belt clamps and it allows you to use molle as well... so at first I didn’t like it but after seeing why the did it and fitting a variety of items on my belt, I’m happy with it. I will be buying a second one in multi-cam... so that shows how much I like this. The other thing I like about this is I can throw it on over whatever I’m wearing. It’s super fast. I don’t have to put the Velcro belt on my pants first replacing my regular belts, then Velcro the gun belt to it, which means I have to make sure my shirt is tucked in, etc.... with this belt, I just throw it on over everything I’m wearing.. untucked shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, etc it’s no problem. It just goes on the outside over all of that."

Good belt and fit

"This is technically the 8x10 medium model. I would have known that had I read about both models. However, as other reviews state, it will* fit 10x12 plates tightly. This PC does not have an internal velcro strap, and only uses the bottom velcro to secure the plates, so I actually prefer the tight fit. I was able to get in trauma pads as well by first working the plates in evenly, and stretching the material out. Then backing the plates out almost all the way and lining up the pad onto the plate, then working both up the sleeve. It was a PITA, but in the end the plates are very secure. As far as fit, I'm 6'3, 215lbs with a thick chest and it fits fine. The shoulder straps did need to be adjusted most of the way out, but as long as your heart isn't in your stomach or you're 7ft tall, I can't see it not fitting. It's very comfortable overall and the pads on the shoulders work well. If it's not tight, it will hit you in the chin when running, as someone else said, but I haven't had too much issue as long as I fit it correctly. The quality is good for the price, and I can see it lasting awhile until it does it's job. It is indeed pretty 'low-viz', and adds very little bulk. It does print under thinner jackets, if you need that sort of thing, but you are wearing full plate. Of course, no side sixers. Get a full one if you need them. Single velcro patch panel on the chest is big enough for two rows of name tape or one flag. It's a good but if you're in a budget or need a back up. Or if you a thinner option to wear covertly. Be safe."

Q&A

Do I need 1.5" inner cobra belt or will 1.75" also fit?
I pulled this to have the space measured and it looks like you could fit a 1.75" belt in this, but it's going to be a really tight fit and might not be worth the hassle if you plan on removing it from the belt often. I would say stick with the 1.5" to play it safe.
What size is recommended on the slim padded belt for a 34 waist
That's a tough one because the padded belt is meant to accommodate a belt as well so if you went with the small, the 4" gap between the two ends of the belt pad would be covered by which belt you decide to use. My concern is if you were to go with the 35.5" that it would cause overlapping and discomfort. I recommend measuring with a tape measure first, because if you are going by pant size, that may not be quite as accurate. So measure where you would like the belt pad to sit on your waist, than that may help push you one way or another. I'm leaning toward the 35.5" for you, but definitely measure first.
Does this product come with an inside belt?
Unfortunately it does not.
