Subtle cargo pants

"I really like these for the office. I used to buy cargo pants for work - I liked the ones with inner magazine holders, which I used for pens and reading glasses. Unfortunately, even the best of them didn't look like office wear. These have side pockets with organizers, but in side pockets that are tailored to be invisible unless you have filled them with stuff. My only regret is they stop odd numbered waist sizes at 35 so I have to go with either a snug 36 or too loose 38."

Quality Construction, Neat Features, Great Price at LAPG

"This was my 3rd set (4-6 pairs) of Vertx LT Phantoms purchased from LAPG over the last 4 years. However, this purchase was for the new LT Phantom 2.0. I really like the new features, which are a softer fabric, small knife/light pockets, new waist line, and slimmer pant legs. I wear these pants everyday and they only require a little ironing to stay fresh looking all day. From my experience, if you wear these pants everyday, they will look good for approximately two years. I just take my old pants and use them for working in the yard. I wash mine in warm water and air dry them (no heat) so they don't shrink the 65/35 poly/cotton fabric. The wear is reflected in color fade and in the rear pockets (ie: butt). However, I have never had any failures in the pants, even under harsh conditions. As noted in other reviews, select a waist size that is one size larger than you normally wear, because the waist runs a little small. On a side note, because I love these pants and many customers like the nylon alternative (ie: Rail Riders), I formally requested that Vertx make this same pant in 100% Nylon. I hope that this happens in the near future."

Very well designed and good quality

"I like these pants better than any other tactical pant available. They are light and comfortable and look neater than others. They also hold up well with wear. The cargo pockets are exceptional in their simplicity and effectiveness. Fold out the top of the pocket under the outer fold to open and put something in. Fold it back under after you put something in. Nothing will fall out even if you stand on your head. Much easier and quicker than annoying overused Velcro. And the cargo pockets have inner pockets big enough to fit a large smart phone. Because these pants are tighter in the legs than the previous version, I order a one inch larger waist."

Acceptable.

"I work in the security field, and I purchased these pants about a year ago as part of my daily uniform. For the most part - they are acceptable. They're lightly constructed and do not have any double ply material anywhere - including the knees. The pockets are all roomy and designed for all your EDC/PPE. There is only one flaw that these pants have, and that is in the design of the cargo pockets: Instead of applying velcro or buttons to keep the top flap closed over the cargo pocket - vertx instead came up with the idea of stitching down both sides of the top flap - so the pocket lip tucks high up under it... In theory, it was a nice idea, and velcro/buttons are a pain to deal with each time you want to grab something quick out of your pockets. In execution - the stitch work is VERY well done, and aesthetically pleasing... However - in practical use, as you even begin to load the pocket - the lip of the pocket slags below the top flap, and the pocket hangs wide open. Its so bad that all your gear slides right out when you sit down. Because I was pleased with the cut and comfort of the pants - I elected to modify the pocket with a small strip of velcro to keep the pocket closed instead of returning them. The pants are great for multiple environments - from the office to the field, and even on the trail. The stitch work is on par with super high end Arcteryx LEAF gear, and I recommend them but with the warning that you may need to add some sort of closure method to your pockets before you use them."
