Stream light 2L-X USB dual fuel

"I recently purchased the ProTac 2L-X USB flashlight after using the PolyTac USB for years. Both lights can run off a USB rechargeable battery or 2xCR123 batteries which provides the flexibility to keep the light running if the rechargeable battery runs out. This light could also live in a go bag or war bag with 2xCR123’s installed and be ready to go when needed. The 2L-X is a thinner all aluminum body with presumably better thermal properties than the PolyTac X which has a thicker plastic body. The 2L-X’s beam profile has reasonable throw and spill. I haven’t used it long enough to talk about reliability but all my other Streamlights have performed very reliably with no issues. I would recommend this light as a high performance general purpose flashlight. It is reasonably priced with the USB rechargeable battery and even less expensive if purchased without to use CR123’s. I used some of my LAPG points from prior purchases that sweetened the purchase."

Mighty Mouse of flashlights

"This flashlight was smaller than I expected, which could be good or bad depending on your wants/needs. When holding it, my palm covers the entire flashlight with just the bezel and tail cap sticking out. It will be fine; that was just a surprise. The small size does mean it weighs virtually nothing, and I can carry it anywhere. The brightness was also a surprise as it is much more powerful than I expected. It has good throw and good spill. I’m not a huge fan of having to remove the battery to charge it, but overall it isn’t a huge issue. The sale price was good enough I’m not worried about it. I gave 4 stars for durability and battery life simply because I haven’t had it long enough to see what abuse it can take."

Great light

"Great EDC light that I've used for the past few years. Great for use on patrol. Not too bright that it causes washout that you may see with brighter lumens. Illuminates rooms and vehicles alike. Depending on the exterior area you're in you may want something in addition to this, ie, fields, woods, etc. Throw is decent, but has better flood capabilities IMO. It's been dropped on the ground, kicked, and still works like the first day I bought it. Only thing I would say is to get another rechargeable battery so it's never dead."

"Bought for swat use. Normally use Streamlight Protac HL on patrol. 2LX is smaller but still provides great light output. Perfect for what I need and fits perfectly in HSGI pistol mag taco. Can’t comment on battery life yet but I did get the rechargeable batteries and I keep one with me when I have the light. Pics show difference in size from 2LX to Protac HL. Pic with the lights was taken in day light shined at my floor. 2LX is on the right and Protac HL on the left. Slightly less intensity than Protac HL but still enough light for anything I’ve needed. Great light! May get a second 2LX for EDC!"
