"Bates was my go-to boots and parade dress shoes since 1999 The boot zipper broke after wearing them 3 times. I used to get a pair yearly. Hopefully this was a fluke. Sent the back. LAPG made it right. Bates, please bring back the quality of these boots. Until then I'm looking at other options for far less money but better reviews"

Just ok.

"Bates has gone down in quality over the years. I have bought the same boots since I began my ems and law enforcement career in the early 2000’s. They are drastically different than they were. I go through a pair each year. This latest pair has a harder plastic, cheap feeling sole. When I walk, it makes more noise than I’d like which sounds like plastic slapping or dragging along. Not sure that I will buy Bate’s again. Sucks since it has all I have ever known for my duty boots and now I have to change."

"These are by far the worst boots I’ve ever worn. They have lumps around the metal strap holders. They poke your feet all day long. They leave welts on my feet. I’ve worn them three times and I can’t wear them anymore. Now I’m screwed on my boots. Can I return them? Please. They suck"
