AR500 A2 Body Armor Plate is a Level III+ rated plate designed to defeat all pistols and most rifle ammunitions including 5.56x45 M193, 5.56x45 M855/SS109 at 3,000 FPS as well as AK-47 rounds (7.62x39) and .308 (7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball) at 2,850 FPS. The custom steel alloy blend protects against several hits without shattering or breaking with the same coverage on the edges as the center giving a true edge-to-edge coverage. This plate features a FragLock Coating that is available in both versions, Base Coat and Build-Up Coat. Although both versions protect the user by either capturing or deflecting fragmentation and spalling, the Build-Up coat offers a thicker seal. The FragLock coating protects the plate from corrosion due to the elements while also providing a shelf life of 20 years.
