I am chest size 45 with 33-34 sleeve. Thas usually between L and XL. Does this run small or large or true to size ? What size should I order ? When will your Brown L be back in stock ?

These are considered true to size. XL would probably be the best.

Hello, I'm unsure which would work for you, but I had the item specs pulled for you to compare. If you are to measure from armpit to armpit across, the chest width on a Medium is 24.5 and a Large is 25.5. This means the overall size difference is 2 inches between the 2 sizes. Hope this helps! :)

Is the soft shell Jacket unisex?

Yes, these are male sizing but we see no reason why a female cannot wear these jackets. If you would like measurements taken of a particular size, please submit a Q&A and we can obtain those for you to ensure proper fit.

Te description does not say it is waterproof or wind proof. Is it?

This is water resistant, but i don't believe it would be considered wind proof. It's not made of windbreaker like material. The water does bead off of it, but due to the fleece lining and the material, I can't say for sure that it's waterproof. It's a very nice jacket though and I think you would be hard pressed finding something comparable for the price.

If I wanted to get some stitching done on this jacket, could I order that through you guys? Like having "SHERIFF" on the back, and maybe my name on the front?

We do not at this time have the facility to be able to accommodate embroidery to that extent. We are currently working on having the ability to order name tapes, but so far that is still in the works and we don't have that live just yet. I would expect something as big as a Sheriff patch along the back would still be some time in the future before we are able to do that.

No, this jacket does not have that feature.

The only vent is on the back, other than that it does not allow airflow. My roommate has used one in the rain, if its hot out he will sweat but if it's cooler it will be fine.

This is a water-resistant style, but not waterproof.

The sizing chart is wrong, how can I know what size jacket to order? The chest sizes show are way too small for an adult jacket, especially a man.

The chest size is a little different than most jackets as it is the chest width measurement rather than full chest size. Basically you would need to measure across the front from armpit to armpit for that chest width size, or you should be able to divide by 2 what your normal chest size is and than match that with one of the sizes posted on the size chart.

Thank you. Did not see that before - was it recently added? And... I do not think this chart is helpful / correct. Chest sizes ranging from 23.5" to 29" ?? And the sleeve length on the 3X drops to 24" - that has to be wrong.

We pulled the sizing information from the manufacturer directly, and it seems that they had an error. The sleeve length is being fixed, but we believe the chest sizes may be just the width on the front panel. You are correct though, it doesn't seem correct for the numbers to be so small for a chest size and we may just need to change the name of that to chest width. I'll have to get it pulled and we'll make adjustments to it within the next few days so hopefully it will be either posted correctly, or we'll list what to actually measure for that. Sorry for the confusion with this!

Does this jacket come with side zippers to allow access to your sidearm while the front of the jacket stays zippered?

This Jacket does not come with zippered side panels to quickly access your sidearm. You would need to fully unzip the jacket in order to get access to a concealed weapon.

How long are the sleeves? I wear a 17x36 shirt, so I'd like to know if the sleeves on a size L or XL are going to be long enough for me. For what it's worth, I wear your LA Police Gear size L Operator Polo shirts, and they fit great. Short sleeves though...

I had the two sizes in question pulled from our website and measured from the armpit to the end of the sleeve for these measurements Large = 21.5" X-Large = 22" Hope that helps with your selection!

Unfortunately no these are no longer available in Brown.

I know it says it has an embroidery access point but what if I just need to place a company logo patch on it?

You would probably have to have a tailor add the soft end of the patch if you plan on using a Hook and Loop type patch on it. You can get sheets of that at hobby shops if it's something that your tailor doesn't provide.

Do you make this with a hood? If not could you?

We don't currently make this with a hood but if we get enough interest we can certainly look into it.

Will this jacket be available in Dark Navy?

At this time we do not have plans of having these in the Navy color in the near future. We do take suggestions though and if you email newbrands@lapolicegear.com requesting for this jacket to be in the Navy color, than that may expedite us looking into other colors for the future. It's a seasonal item, and I expect that they are still trying to get a feel for how well the current colors are doing before they look into other options.

Can we get a picture added for the Coyote Operator Soft Shell Jacket? There are images for Black and Brown, but not Coyote.

Looks like we had the wrong option linked to that picture. We will have the correct Coyote added today and be updated on the site later tonight. The coyote is a lot lighter than the brown.
