The Earphone Connection Hawk Lapel Microphone is a favorite amongst law enforcement professionals. The microphone features a PTT push-to-talk) button that is sensitive to a whisper. The kit comes equipped with the clear acoustic audio tube, right and left medium rubber ear molds and two rubber ear tips. Also features polyurethane-jacketed, Kevlar cables for extended life.

"I ordered this to replace the Hawk I purchased on 7-5-2013 as the QD connection had become warn. I researched it and it seems that they only last a year or two. I received the new Hawk and am constantly told by the other people on my shift that I sound ''Muffled'' or ''Scratchy''. I am currently attempting to exchange it to see if it's a bad microphone or what else the problem could be."

"I bought this item to use on duty. I was sick of my hand mic bouncing around and falling off during foot chases. This mic is very light and barely even noticeable. Audio is very clear and my transmissions are clear as well. A huge step up from my hand mic. Get the QR option and just thread it under your shirt or cut a small hole. Would definitely buy again."

"I have this wired into one of my external vest carriers. The quick detach cord makes it easy to hook/un-hook my radio to the mic/earpiece. I wish the main cord was a bit longer, and it wish I could get a second one without the QD radio mount, just the QD cord with the mic and ear piece."

"Great microphone and ear piece for the price. Haveing the smaller microphone and running all wires under the clothes is great for patrolwork. There are no longer wires to get caught on things or for someone to grab. Several officers at my ddepartment have been using this product for a while and I have heard no complaints."

Great product.... When it works.

"I really like this lapel mic set up... It's lightweight and easy to use. I like how easy it is to hear and be heard while using this setup. HOWEVER, the quick disconnects keep going out on mine. I can only get about 1-1.5 years out of these things. There is nothing better than getting into a FP with a PAL and having your quick disconnect come off because it got loose over its last 9-12 months of use."

When it says XTS series, that means all of the XTS? I know that sounds like a dumb question but I wanted to make sure the XTS2500 was covered.
Yes, I searched Earphone Connection's website and the EP1323QR is for Motorola XTS 1500, 2500, 3000, 3500 and 5000 models, so it will work with your XTS2500.
How long is the cable that connects the radio to the microphone?

How do I find what model my radio is?
Your radio should have markings on it somewhere telling you which model it is. When you have that information, view the fit chart in the description and choose the part number that corresponds to your radio.
Do any of these fit the Wouxon radios?
I have contacted Earphone and they told me a Wouxon radio would be compatible with a EP1301QR model.

Yes, this will work with the MA/COM P7100ip, choose option EP1327QR in the drop down option box.
I have used other Lapel Mic's that didn't beep when you key up the radio. I prefer to hear the beep indicating that you can speak. Do you hear a beep when you key the Microphone.
Unfortunately the manufacturer does not provide that specification. The best thing to do will be to contact them and they can tell you if this mic will work that way with your radio.

No this does not come with the quick connect piece.
The youtube video says that this comes with the foam tips for the earpiece, but when I read the product description it says that it comes with the rubber molds. Can you clarify this please since I'd rather have the foam tips?
It comes with the rubber tips. Earphone's video is out of date from what they currently sale .
