The Prodigy is much smaller, but it certainly packs as much punch as its predecessor. The full tang Stainless Steel blade is beefy, and coated with ceramic for improved corrosion resistance and reduced visual signature. The ergonomic over-molded rubber handles ensures a soft, comfortable, but secure grip in all conditions. Its also MIRS compliant. Much like the knife, the sheath is designed to live up to the task with a friction-release thumb lock for security and a list of non-detection features. Noise is dampened thanks to a molded softgrip coating which, like the ballistic nylon material, is MIRS compliant. It's also MOLLE compatible and comes with a leg strap.

"One of the best knives Gerber has designed and made. Ideal size for anything from tactical to combat to camp tasks. It can do it. Nice strong drop point tip and half serrated. One of my top 2 fixed knives ever

"This and my other favorite is,the SOG SEAl PUP but this one probably has the SOG beat. The quality is very noticeable. The blade thickness is very robust. The grip is,awesome, very similar to the 1911 G10 grips which are the best. The sheath it,comes with is a item they could charge $50 on its own. Its the best included sheath I've ever gotten. Has a striking tip on the back end of,the handle that will definitely do some,damage if needed"

Decent buy

"Seems like a sturdy knife. Rubberized grip, thinner blade, but decent design. Wanted to mount it on the front of my plate carrier. However the nylon sheath attachment (which serves only for mounting options but is rather large) is sewn onto the rubber sheath at the bottom making it a permanent decision should you decide to disconnect the two. The knife overall seems a little smaller than I expectedb but I'm sure it will still serve its purpose should I need it to."
