The Condor Defender Plate Carrier is designed to carry both soft armor and plate. It will accept Large or X-Large SPEAR and BALC cut soft armor, up to 10.25 inch x 13.25 inch front and back plates, and up to 6 inch x 8 inch side plates. "I looked at other options and bought this because it was wider ( I wanted sufficient room to mount four Shotgun Ammo Pouches, 2 side by side and one row above the other.) While that idea worked fine, this is a big vest: I'm 6'6 and 265 pounds and it's plenty loose, even over a sweatshirt. This will work just fine for my purposes, but I'd suggest that if you don't have a big barreled chest, to look for something else."

Great vest, well built, one size does not fit all

"I received the vest super fast! It was a good thing because I had to return it. The vest itself was very well built, the molle system is awesome and all over this vest. The Velcro is extremely strong and felt like it would old up for years! The only drawback to this vest was that it was a little big on me. I am 6' tall and weight around 200lbs. When I put this on the length from the sternum to the bottom of the vest was about an inch and a half too long. With my duty belt on, it sat on top and pushed my belt down. I attempted to adjust the shoulders a lot and it did not help much. I'm not heavy in my mid section so I had to tighten the cumber bun really tight, yet it was still too bulky on the sides and inhibited access to my firearm and taser. I would have loved to keep this vest and would have if they offered different sizes. It fit my soft ballistics very well and they measure 16X22. I had to return the vest and I ordered the EXO S/M to try out and I am hopeful it will fit. It wasn't the actual product that got the 3 stars, Condor makes great stuff, but it was the lack of sizing that ruined it for me. If you are big this would work for you, but if you are under 6' tall and less than 200lbs, it may be too big on you!"

what style rifle plates does this carrier accommodate (shooters cut vs square): the manufacturer states that this accepts Large or X-Large SPEAR/BALC cut soft armor, up to 10.25" x 13.25" front and back plates, and up to 6" x 8" side plates. Hi, I have the ABA soft armor panels that wrap completely around my torso! Will this carrier fit my panels?: This Condor Plate Carrier will fit soft armor, but it will not fit soft armor that wraps all the way around your body. The front and back portion of this carrier are not a single piece. You can see the dimensions of the front and back portions on the product page.
How does the vest secure on each side? I have a Point Blank outer carrier and it has Velcro on each side to adjust how tight the vest is. Is this vest the same way?: Yes, this vest is adjusted by lifting the bottom panel and readjusting the Velcro for a tighter or looser fit.
What soft armor can you use with this carrier? Specifically what cut of soft armor? I know small panels will fit. I'm curious if BALCS cut would fit.: Yes the balcs cut should fit just fine.
Is there a way to secure the soft armor once it is inside the sleeves or will the armor just be moving around loosely in the sleeves . I have measured my soft armor panels and will have at least 3" of extra room on most sides of the vest and don't want it just flopping around.: once you have put the carrier on and sized it correctly to you making the correct adjustments in the should and girth area the soft armour should sit tightly in the carrier and not move around.

Will 11x14 plates fit in if?: The plate pocket on the front has dimensions of about 14.5" x 12", so your plates would fit, but it would be very tight.

It's a one size fits most, and you are on the larger end of most with just your height alone, so you may need to look for one that comes in additional sizes. In the pictures of the carrier. They show the old style cumber bun without hook and loop. This would not allow mag pouches to sit securely to front bib. Does this have the updated one? How do rigs like this come apart to take on and off?: To put this plate carrier on and off, you would want to pull up the flap in the front which would give you access to one of the side flaps which you could then pull on to open the side. That way you would not have to pull the entire plate carrier over your head.
