The Kershaw Leek just may be the ideal EDC. With its 3-inch blade, the Leek is a good-sized knife, but not too big. The slim design makes it easy to carry and its razor-sharp blade of high-performance Sandvik 14C28N means it can take care of a full range of cutting tasks. The blade is a modified drop-point, so it?s a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it piercing capability and the ability to do detailed work. Like other ?Onion? knives, the Leek features the SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system. Whether you?re left-handed or right-handed, just pull back on the flipper and the Leek?s blade is ready to go to work. In addition to its 14C28N blade, this Leek features a handle of pure stainless steel that gives it a clean, sleek look. For confident blade use, a super-secure frame lock keeps the blade locked during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks the blade closed when folded. The pocketclip can be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard. The first thing you?ll notice about the Composite Blade Leek (1660CB & 1660CBBW) is?well, the Composite Blade. The wavy braze line permanently joins a razor-sharp D2 cutting edge to a Sandvik 14C28N spine. The combination of these two steels enables us to give you a blade that not only looks cool, but also provides the best of two steel worlds. On the edge is a high-carbon, high-chromium D2 steel capable of taking and holding an incredible edge. On the spine is high-performance Sandvik 14C28N. With a Composite Blade, each type of steel is allowed to do what it does best. The Rainbow Leek?s (1660VIB) amazing multi-colored finish comes from a process known as PVD or Physical Vapor Disposition. Metals are ionized with a high-current, low-voltage arc then placed in a vacuum chamber along with the products to be coated?in this case, the blade and handle of the Rainbow Leek. A negative voltage is introduced and a micro-thin layer of metal permanently coats the blade and handle. Ionizing different metals creates different coatings. In this case, the metal is titanium oxide and oxygen is also introduced into part of the process. The combination makes the brilliant rainbow colors you see on the Rainbow Leek (as well as the Rainbow Scallion and Rainbow Chive). Features:
