Bring along some andouille (or any dry sausage) if you want to and make it even more authentically Cajun. The addition of cheese, sour cream or some fresh veggies make an even more substantial meal. As is, Backpacker's Pantry Louisiana Red Beans & Rice is vegetarian, gluten-free and perfectly spicy. All you need is 2 cups of boiling water and 20 minutes hydration time. Take along on a hike or camping trip for a quick, great tasting, hot lunch or serve alongside a freshly caught trout. Dairy free. Wheat free. Nut free. Soy free. And best of all it is also non-GMO!

    Preparation & Storage

    Remove and discard enclosed oxygen absorber before beginning food preparation. Add 2-1/2 cups (600 mL) of boiling water. Stir well. Seal and let sit for 15-20 minutes. Stir and serve. Rehydration time doubles every 5,000 feet of elevation gain. Our directions are set for 5,000 feet. Best By Date on packaging is 10 years from manufacturing date.
